OMG, nooooo! I need this game to never end. Next paycheck, I'm gonna donate. Sending this to my egg friend, maybe it'll help them too.

(+2)

Thank you for the positive words :) and I appreciate the potential support!

I hope you and your friend are doing well!

(+2)

aw i ran out of content D:
haha this has been real good fun playing though i enjoyed it

(+2)

Hehe. I appreciate the positive words!

The game is actively being worked on! ♥

Stuck in underwater city. Done everything I can until second level. Can't carry blue medallion with me.  I see one room on each level that I can't access, so stumped.

Hi! you got automatically flagged for spam, so I didn't see this until now.

On the second floor of the Water Dungeon, you have to step on all the special blue tiles on the floor. This allows you to hop across the raised pillars to reach more of the area. If you follow the path, it should open a ladder down to the first floor, and you can retrieve the Blue Medallion that way.

Thanks for playing! :)

The Damien pickup from cafe event seems to trigger before you get the voice call if you go to the cafe in evening.

(+1)

Hi! Yes, it's a known bug. It's been fixed in the Patreon version already, and should therefore be fixed in next Public Release. :)

Thanks for the bug report regardless!

(+1)

for anyone wanting to run this in linux:
the windows binary doesn't work under wine (it even managed to crash my compositor).
what does kind of work is the web version. you first have to locally host it with a http server, then (at least for firefox) you have to comment out the line `element.mozRequestFullScreen();` around line 1009 in the file `js/rmmz_core.js`. (or one of the functions calling it, I kinda was too lazy to root cause it)

(Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or outdated!)

The threshold mechanic has the (intended?) effect of increasingly softlocking you towards the path you pick in your early choices. Like, if you go through a few reluctant choices, you can barely dial things up later on, and viceversa.

I think it works for continuity's sake, I'm totally ok with doing several runs of the game. But maybe I want my darling to really explode out of their shell, or have a sudden bout of shyness? ;3

Could be cool to add a cheat mode to be able to pick the scene variant you wanna read. Maybe a 'New Game+'?

(+2)

Hi! Please take this message with a grain of salt, since I'm talking about plans for things that are much later in the game's progression and development, as well as very tentative, possible ideas. :)

Both "paths" ("reluctant scenes" and "eager scenes") are meant to gradually nudge the protagonist towards self-acceptance and self-exploration (in regards to both gender and sexuality).

...So they're planned to eventually end up at a similar destination anyways plot-wise - probably with some specifics of it defined by player choices.

I've considered the idea of having optional and repeatable stat increases which are gated to a degree by story progression. If this idea were implemented, it would allow the protagonist to accelerate towards "eager" scenes during a playthrough that had previously been more "reluctant" (but not the other way around), if the player wished. I don't know if it will actually be implemented or not, but it's a possible consideration. It's also possible that the game's stat gains in general may eventually be rebalanced, but we'll have to see.

That idea of having some sort of unlockable mode where the player could directly choose whether the scene is "reluctant" or "eager" could be interesting. I'll have to think about it more. :)

(2 edits) (+1)

Repeatables that increase points up to a capped amount may be the optimal choice, since I'm guessing most people will want to "upgrade" from reluctant to eager path (unless they are heavily role-playing and self-inserting, imagine that, how crazy, haha...ah...) But we'll see, we'll see 👀

I'm having trouble finding the magical lake inspection quest. I can't locate the lake for that quest. It says south but which lake though.

Hi! It's the lake you reach by walking directly south after leaving the City of the Four.

(5 edits)

Hello! So, is it like close to the exit of the city? Like the big lake where you have to hop over to the other side of the land of the second area of the forest??

Is this the lake?

Update: I figure it out LOL! It was the big lake with the flower digging up.....jesus I didn't even think of that xDD

(+1)

Hehe, I'm glad you figured it out. :)

<3 hehe

the game is nice but damn in the parts where there is sex you can't see a thing and it happens almost always the game requires a lot of modifications because like this you can't play it

(1 edit) (+2)

Are you referring to the fact that some of the sex scenes don’t have artwork yet? The player is told right before the scene starts if it doesn’t have art yet.
There are definitely scenes with artwork already.
The game is in active development. :)

hai i downloaded the game and tried launching it, but just got a black screen that said "Error Your browser does not support WebGL." do u know how i'd fix that?

Hello. It sounds like you’re trying to use the Web release to run it on your own in your browser, which, to my understanding, is not that simple to do. The Web release is basically just there for people with the technical knowledge to make the game run on other devices.

If you’re on Windows, I’d recommend you just use the Windows release. :)

Thanks for your interest!

sorry but that's the thing, i did download the Windows release and get that error, i even just redownloaded it and tried again, not rly sure what i'm doing wrong

The Windows release should run with an exe file, and shouldn’t be using your web browser at all.
Are you launching the game with the exe file, and are you using a Windows machine?

yeah, this one, right?

Very interesting.
I have not run into this issue at all, and I've gotten others to test it as well.

However, a cursory search online seems to suggest that you should try updating your graphics card driver.

Please let me know if you get it working! Thanks! :)

The emotion conveyed in the writing is so good! The constant back and forth of "Do I or don't I?" The self-imposed guilt from expectations (perceived or real) of friends, family, or society. It all hit me way harder than I was expecting going into this.

(+1)

I do try to have the Protagonist show emotion, and convey the idea that, although they’re concerned about if they “can” (or are “allowed” to) pursue femininity and sex in that way, they do truly want this and are actively taking steps to move towards it. It’s a complex idea to convey, but I do my best! :)

Thank you for playing! ❤️

I have the quest to go up the mountain, but every time I try it says "...No, we'll climb this mountain another time." I've already done the well quest, am I missing something?

Hi! Several people have gotten confused at that point.
You need to progress time for a day or two, until Jen has dialogue about heading to the mountain.

It's likely that particular day or two will flow better once there's something else to do at that point in time. :)

Thanks for playing!

(1 edit)

The story telling is really fun! Though up to the solo quest for Mayor, yet to be implemented.  So excited for more content! The artwork is really good too!! love it x

Hello! I'm not sure what you mean. If you haven't reached a screen that announces the End of Content, then you're missing something. :)
Thanks for the positivity, and thanks for playing!

I got the solo quest from the Guild, to goto see the  mayor, but when I get to the entrance of the Mayors residence, my character goes to enter but then I am at the entrance with the words not implemented... but I will make sure I have done all other side quests etc. Still think its a great game!!!

Are you sure you didn't try to enter the guards' barracks instead?

The barracks building is not yet implemented, but meeting the mayor IS in both the public release and the Patreon-only release.

(+2)

***Embarrassed***

You got me, I actually figured it out earlier today.... lol

Yeah thanks. sigh

(+1)

Glad you figured it out! :)

(+2)

TLDR; love the game!

As (despite being?) a cis male, reading the MC's journey of self-exploration and discovery feels incredible, kudos for so much attention on the characterization and narrative of the game. The slow burn is mandatory, and just like the MC I'm loving the teasing, especially Jen's! She's absolutely incredible, and I'm hoping you'll have the time and budget to reveal more about her!

Props for Damien and Seth too, particularly the former; the way his flaws are revealed and considered actually makes me even more fond of him, instead of antagonizing.

Wynne was a sudden reveal, and she's turning out great, IMO! Were it not for Corey being in a steampunk AR, I'd be suspicious of Wynne's true identity. Also, I'm fairly close to betting the mayor Mai is actually Dr. Boss, lol.

Carol, Amy, and Anne are also interesting characters, I'm curious how they'll continue to be part of the story.

As for the game itself, I really enjoyed the mechanics and puzzles on the underwater structure, fascinating the way those blue tiles altered the map, jumping from one collumn to the other (influence from Indiana Jones? lol), as well as the Mist and Dive spells. Not to mention that, since I've got the Shovel, I'm always on the lookout! I admit to being eager to see how innovative you'll be as the game grows.

Also, I must object on your estimation of playtime for the public release: 8 hours? Please, I'm already at 15 hours, and I haven't even tried the Reluctant path yet!

Last but not least, the tentacle spellbook? A masterpiece! Laughed and wow'd so much at all it produced! Will Jen keep teasing the MC about it? I sure hope so!

There's more that I could say, but I'll save it for another post in a future update. Very eager to know how will all the current paths and doors blocked be opened as well as what will be on the other side. I really hope you'll keep enjoying developing this game as much as we'll definitely enjoy playing it! Thank you for sharing this early release!

P.S.: If it's on your plans to eventually publish it on Steam, it will be an instabuy for me!

(+2)

First of all, thank you so much for the glowing, positive comment!
I think this is the longest positive feedback comment I've ever received on Itch!

I'm very glad you enjoy the characters, and that you're interested in the plot! I do work hard on trying to make the characters and dialogue enjoyable. That one theory about Dr. Boss and Mayor Mai is interesting :)

It's nice to hear positivity about the puzzle mechanics! They're something I also think is fun - as well as the secrets, like you mentioned!

Haha, the playtime estimate. It's just a vague estimate based on my own playtime, reading speed, and already knowing where everything is and what it all does. It's also something that will vary A LOT depending on what content the player does/does not engage with. I'm glad you're getting that much enjoyable playtime out of Transportal!!

A side note about the the tentacle book:
It may be (optionally and briefly) mentioned at one point in the current Patreon release. :3

(Oh, and about your mention of Steam:
I don't have the eventual "final release" plans for Transportal anywhere close to fully solidified yet, but Steam certainly seems like one of the possible options. :) We'll have to see where things end up!

Thank you again for the kind and positive words!!
I'll continue to work hard on Transportal! ♥

only a couple hours in at this point and I absolutely love it! is Discord access only for Patreon members?

Thank you, I'm glad to hear it!

The Discord itself is gated behind a single Patreon purchase in order to initially join, and then certain channels and voice chats are gated behind an active Patreon subscription. :)

I'm having an issue where I can't progress, it's the first day where the rest of the party is working at the their new jobs, and I can't interact with the Guild Receptionist, Blacksmith or Apothecary, any idea on how to fix it? Or do I just need to go back to a prior save, playing on 0.4.5

Hi! Would you please describe what happens when you try to interact with the Guild Receptionist?

The game autosaved but nothing happened, but then I tried loading the auto save and then it worked somehow

I think perhaps I am missing some context.
By "the game autosaved", are you referring to the prompts such as "You should save first"?
The player is meant to interact again after saving.

you have to press space on your keyboard, I guess. That worked for me

If you're referring to talking to NPC's from across counters, then yes, generally you have to interact with the counters themselves (either by clicking on them or using a key/button), instead of clicking on the NPC from across the counter. :)

does web version mean I can download it and play it on my browser? asking because all it did was give me lots of files with no game.

(1 edit) (+1)

No, my understanding is that it's not that simple for it to run in browser, sadly.
I deploy and upload that version for those who may want it for more technical setups. I'm told that people have used the Web version (and Joiplay) to get it running on Android devices, for example.

how do i get the dive skill? i cant seem to find the cave the quest is hinting at

If you're in a save where Wynne told you about it, it's back at the intro forest area next to one of the small ponds. There's a door visible. :)

If you haven't talked to Wynne yet, then you can go in from above (in the same area) by using Inspect Area then investigating the spot on the ground.

are the uncolored scenes going to be colored in the future or is this a style choice?

Color is being very gradually added to scenes. :)
Thanks for playing!

i just found a bug the game froze after talking to the mayor so i restarted my game then when i went to start my save it wasnt there so now about 3 hours of gameplay is gone im really frustrated about this i hope you get it fixed bc its game breaking

(1 edit)

Hello! You're saying *all your saves* mysteriously disappeared?
That sounds... like it perhaps is not on my end.

That said...
Which interaction with the mayor are you referring to, and where exactly did it freeze?
What operating system are you on?
And what version of Transportal are you playing on? 0.4.5 or 0.5.0?

Thanks!

im playing on 0.4.5 i use a pc with windows, it was the first interaction with the mayor after doing the first solo quest, the game froze and i had to reset my game after opening the game the only option i had was to start a new run i cant click continue

Interesting, thank you for the information.
0.4.5 is the current free version now, but it's been the Patreon-only release for a while and I have not heard of this bug during that time. It's possible that the bug is quite rare, or specific to your machine, or caused by a corrupt download.

1. You had previously saved the game before that point, and then the saves were ALL suddenly gone, correct?

2. Do you remember the specific spot that the game froze? Like a specific line of dialogue, or location of the characters?

3. Did the game's window actually become unresponsive, or did you just become unable to move?

Again, I appreciate the info!

Also, for future reference:
If you need to fast forward through scenes, there is a Fast Text Skipping setting in the Options menu which allows you to quickly speed through cutscenes you've already seen using the PageDown key. :)

Stuck at underwater city. How do I use the big portal? Hoping it gets me to the areas that I haven't been able to reach.

(1 edit)

Hello!
You have to step on both of the light blue tiles on the ground, then climb the ladder and hop across the platforms. After that, you should find a way back to the underwater floor.
Retrieve the Blue Medallion from downstairs, and bring it to the large magic circle.

Thanks for playing! :)

What do you mean by 'hop'?  I've climbed the ladder, but see no way to do anything but walk.

Never mind, it hops automatically across the columns. Thanks!

No problem :)

Wow, that was quick, didn't expect it to end so soon. TFTG

A new release came out a few minutes ago, and the game is still being worked on!

Wish I could be approved so my posts can be seen, need help!

(+1)

Not gonna lie, felt like crying when I saw the "end of content" screen. I want more, I love it so much!

(+1)

Thank you so much! ♥
The game is still being actively worked on. :)

I tried to install the game on my phone but i couldn't, someone to help me?

(+1)

Hello!
The non-Windows versions of the game are untested, but I've been told that people have gotten the game running on Android devices by using Transportal's "Web" release, and Joiplay.

That's about all the help I'm able to give on the subject, though.
Thank you for your interest! :)

(1 edit) (+1)

[Xiro]
Interacting with things in the lobby causes the other characters to say things, despite them having already moved on to the next room.

(+1)

[Xiro]
Nevermind, I think we were misremembering.

(+2)

Hi! You can check what party members are present at any time on the regular menu screen.

If you do find any cases where party members say things while they shouldn't be there, please let me know! It's possible that could be a bug to fix :)

Thanks for playing!

(1 edit) (+1)

Are there any other tf content being added for the female gane character or just the male , something like breast expansion

(3 edits) (+1)

It's possible that there might be TEMPORARY transformations for the blonde, "fantasy" version of the protagonist.
By "temporary", I mean "lasting only for a scene, then returning to their previous state".

Otherwise, the current plan is for the slow, gradual progression to be kept for the brown-haired, "IRL" version of the protagonist.
But we'll have to see! Thanks for your interest! ♥

(1 edit) (+1)

This game is lovely, pathetic or not a lot of moments in this game make me feel really seen.

(+2)

Thank you! I'm glad you feel seen, and I hope you're doing as well as possible! ♥

(+2)

Thank you for making the game, keep it up! ♥

(+2)

This is by far my favorite game on the platform! I must admit that for a while I even wanted to write a story inspired by your game! Thank you very much for your work!

(+2)

Thank you very much for the kind words!

I hope you're doing well, and thanks for playing! :)
